Our Story
Bodywell is a skin care development company based out of Vancouver, Canada. We have been in the industry for 18 years, developing and manufacturing skin care products. We have experience developing products ranging from hair care to skin care, medi-spa to cosmeceuticals. Over the years we have been requested by clients and consumers into developing products from plant based ingredients, effectively removing ingredients that are sourced from petroleum.
Our Philosophy
We here at Bodywell believe that to create safe, natural products, the key focus should be on the ingredients. We put extensive efforts in ingredient selection, making sure we know the exact botanical source of the ingredient, and making sure as little chemistry is done to the raw material as possible. The more chemical steps between extraction from the plant and the final ingredient results in more impurities, some of which can have negative affects on the skin overtime.
Sometimes when something cannot be achieved using plant based ingredients, we use ingredients from our ‘safe synthetic’ catalog. That way we make sure that the synthetic ingredients sourced from petroleum are safe for human consumption.
We also take an extensive look at the environmental impact of the ingredients that we use. There are many cases where a certain ingredient can be sourced from natural sources or synthetic sources. In these cases we would look at the environmental impact of the ingredient’s manufacturing, and ask our clients which sourcing they would prefer.
We believe that investing in the proper technology is key to success in the skin care industry. We have invested extensively in the past years on production technology, water purification, and testing/research equipment, in order to provide the best possible product quality.
Our Facility
We moved into our new facility in May of 2016, and have worked extensively to retrofit it to some of the industries highest standards for cleanliness, production capability, and efficiency. We have developed our new lab from the ground up in 2016 to improve our capabilities in shelf-life testing, product development, and research.
We here at Bodywell are committed to reducing our environmental impact by making sure our waste is disposed of properly. Our effluence from operations are contained in a holding tank, and treated appropriately before being disposed of.
